the nation’s recognized leader in the fields of paddlesport instruction

The Downtown Boathouse of New York City is an all-volunteer
organization dedicated to providing access to the Hudson River
for everyone with the following free programs: public
kayaking, trips on the harbor, classes, and a youth sailing
program. They also make their facilities available to the
general public for the launching of small hand powered boats.

The New England Canoe & Kayak Racing Association was
originally founded as the Connecticut Canoe Racing Association
in March 1979. NECKRA is a volunteer organization dedicated to
advancing the sport of canoe and kayak racing to paddlers of
all skill levels. |

The Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and
Preservation located within the Atlantis Marine World aquarium
is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of
seals, sea turtles, whales, dolphins, and porpoises. The RFMRP
is the only organization authorized by New York State to carry
on this important work in conserving the marine environment.

Canoe Club |

Sebago, founded in 1933, is one of the oldest canoe clubs
in the Northeast. Located in Paerdegat Basin Park in Brooklyn,
New York, the club is a short paddle from the 16,000 acre
expanse of Jamaica Bay, part of Gateway National Recreational
Area, a famous wildlife refuge. An American Canoe

September 1958. The NSBC presently has a membership of over
325 U.S. and Canadian organizations, all with an interest in

recreational and competitive paddling. USCA holds annual
National Competitons for Aluminum Canoes, and for Marathon
Canoes/Kayaks. |

The U.S. Coast Guard Office of Boating Safety is dedicated
to reducing loss of life, injuries, and property damage that
occur on U.S. waterways by improving the knowledge, skills,
and abilities of recreational boaters. Its affiliate, the
National Boating Safety Advisory Council (NBSAC) is consulted
in prescribing Federal regulations, and other major boating
safety matters. The Council consists of 21 members
including the American Canoe Association. |
