MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

NACK Requirements

There are a few specific requirements of participating in NACK. Most are self evident (dues, bylaws), others are unique to NACK such as adherance to our NFP Charter, and agreement to a work commitment. Still others occur because of our participation in the ACA PAC program. For a printable synopsis of all benefits and requirements Click Here.

  • Must maintain NACK membership dues commitment each year
  • Must complete NACK work commitment each year
  • Must read and agree to abide by NACK Charter, Bylaws, Policies and Procedures
  • Must be an ACA member or join ACA through NACK at reduced rate
  • Must sign an ACA Liability Waiver each year
  • Must read and obey ACA Safety Guidelines for Paddling
  • Must adhere to USCG and Local "rules of the road" while on the water
  • Must adhere to environmental principles of "Leave No Trace"

ACA/PAC Requirements

We are lucky at NACK to be both a Not-For-Profit Corporation and also an Paddle America Club PAC under the auspices of the American Canoe Association. Sustaining the advantages of this designation entails some specific requirements. For a printable synopsis of all benefits and requirements Click Here.

  • PACs must pay a yearly organizational fee to the ACA
  • PACs must register in advance for all ACA Sanctioned Events
  • All Sanctioned Event partipants must sign or have an ACA Waiver on file
  • PACs must collect an ACA fee for each non-ACA-member attending a Sanctioned Event
  • PACs must report after each Sanctioned Event and transmit fees and Waivers
  • PACs must require all members and participants to adhere to ACA Safety Guidelines
  • PACs must agree to ACA rules regarding pubilicity and use of the ACA Logo
